Affect & Assemblages is a collegiate course and lecture series that explores how the media is a vessel that affects emotions. It's led by Marie Shurkus, the head of Art History at Maine College of Art. Marie says, "The media offers a powerful vector through which affect and emotions migrate, producing virtual forms of kinship based on shared feelings rather than factually informed agendas. These assemblages move through culture and shift the norm."
Drawing on key themes of emotional waves and shared feelings, this identity system is for Marie Shurkus and her class Affect & Assemblages.
